Students, staff, parents and community members from Ed Smith have partnered with the United States Department of Agriculture National Resources Conservation Service, Rural Development and the Farm Services Agency to plant a native plant pollinator garden. The USDA is recognizing National Pollinator Week with the installation of this new pollinator garden at the section of the Morningside Cultural Trail right behind Ed Smith
Being involved in the community and giving back to your community are two important things for the students and staff at Ed Smith School. 26 volunteers from the school helped The Salvation Army pack meals to be sent to Haiti. These meals have been sent to a Salvation Army Distribution Center in Haiti and will be distributed to families in need. Throughout the day, 2,500 volunteers packed 867,858 meals.
