Nottingham Teacher Takes Part in Cultural Workshop and Curriculum Project

Nottingham teacher Don Little recently completed 40 hours of classroom instruction and created a primary-source-based curriculum project as part of the National Endowment for the Humanities Landmarks of American History and Cultural Workshop, “At the Crossroads of Revolution: Lexington and Concord in 1775.”

Nottingham High School Wall Of Fame Induction Ceremony

The William Nottingham High School staff, administration and students together with the Nottingham PTSO and the Nottingham Alumni Connection cordially invite you to the 2010 Nottingham High School Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

August Commencement Date Announced

The Syracuse City School Districts August Commencement will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 7:00 PM. The ceremony will take place in the Crouse-Hinds Theatre at the Civic Center. Eligible students from Corcoran, Fowler, Henninger and Nottingham will be participating in the ceremony. Doors will open for family and friends at 6:00 PM.  

 

Cornell University Hosts Students for Expanding Your Horizons Program

Aspiring 9th grade female scientists and mathematicians from Nottingham High School attended Cornell University’s Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) program. The program is designed to motivate young women in the fields of science and mathematics.
 

Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority Recognizes Youth Achievement Award Winners

The Xi Chapter of the Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority held its 41th Annual Youth Achievement Luncheon at Drumlins Country Club. Lambda Kappa Mu is a national organization of business and professional women whose mission is to provide community service and support, encourage scholarly pursuits and empower its members to address societal issues. 
 

First Student, Superintendent, Robert DiFlorio and CURN Scholarship Winners Announced

Each year scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors who exemplify the characteristics and high level of academic achievement that we seek for all of our students. This year’s winners are perfect examples of that and are role models for those who will come after them.
 

Building Men Program to Pilot Peer Mentoring Program at Nottingham

The Syracuse City School District’s Building Men program will be piloting a Peer Mentoring program at Nottingham High School next year. Fifteen young men, mostly former members of the Levy Building Men program, were trained on May 19th and 20th. 

 

STEM and SECME Rocket Club Teams Take Home Awards

The Syracuse City School District and the individual school STEM and SECME clubs represented themselves very well at the SECME Rocket Team Challenge. The 1st and 4th place winners in the high school division went to Henninger and Nottingham respectively.
