2016-2017 After-School Applications Now Available

After-School Programs are dynamic extensions of learning that help prepare students to graduate as responsible, active citizens ready for success in college and careers.  The Syracuse City School District is proud to offer opportunities for academic instruction, project-based learning and a broad array of enrichment course offerings, such as (but not specifically) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), art, music, performing arts, tech crew, athletic recreation programs (i.e. golf, lacrosse, swimming, fencing and tennis), drumline, choir, service learning/mentoring, gender specific leadership courses and so much more.

Clary Middle School

The After-School Program at Clary Middle School will follow the attached program calendar. Services will generally run Monday through Thursday from 2:30-4:30pm.  The program begins on October 12, 2016. For those students not participating in modified sports, transportation is available if online applications are received by September 23, 2016. Applications received after September 23rd should plan to allow up to two weeks to be added to bus routes.

Delaware Academy (Community Partner: YWCA Syracuse)

The After-School Program at Delaware Academy will follow the attached program calendar. The program serves students in grades 3-5.  The program will generally run Monday through Thursday for 2 hours, from 2:00-4:00pm. The program begins on October 11, 2016. Transportation is available if online applications are received by September 23, 2016.  Applications received after September 23rd should plan to allow up to two weeks to be added to bus routes.

Delaware Primary (Community Partner: YWCA Syracuse)

The After-School Program at Delaware Primary will follow the attached program calendar. The program serves students in grades K-2.   The program will generally run Monday through Thursday for 2 hours, from 2:00-4:00pm. The program begins on October 11, 2016. Transportation is available if online applications are received by September 23, 2016.  Applications received after September 23rd should plan to allow up to two weeks to be added to bus routes.

Expeditionary Learning Middle School

The After-School Program at Expeditionary Learning Middle School will follow the attached program calendar. The program will generally run Tuesday through Thursday, from 2:30-4:30pm. Services begin on October 18, 2016. Transportation is available if online applications are received by September 23, 2016. Applications received after September 23rd should plan to allow up to two weeks to be added to bus routes.

Ed Smith K-8 School (Community Partner:  Westcott Community Center)
The After-School Program at Ed Smith K-8 School will follow the attached program calendar. The program serves students in grades K-8.  The program will generally run Monday through Thursday for 2 hours, from 3:00-5:00pm. The program begins on October 17, 2016. Transportation is available if online applications are received by September 23, 2016.  Applications received after September 23rd should plan to allow up to two weeks to be added to bus routes.

Grant Middle School (Community Partner: Contact Community Services)

The After-School Program at Grant Middle School will follow the attached program calendar. The program serves students in grades 6-8.  The program will generally run Monday through Friday for 3 hours, from 2:45-5:45pm. The program begins on October 11, 2016. Transportation is available if online applications are received by September 23, 2016.  Applications received after September 23rd should plan to allow up to two weeks to be added to bus routes. Students in the FREE Contact Community Services After School Program at Grant will receive academic skill-building and homework help, sports and recreation as well as the exploration of special interests such as art, music, theater, dance, computers and technology, crafts, games and cultural activities. Students will also receive ongoing relationships with caring adults, an environment that strengthens social skills and character, healthy snacks and safe and well-designed indoor and outdoor spaces. This program and its facilities are fully licensed by the Office of Children and Family Services.

Hughes School (Community Partner: YMCA of Greater Syracuse)

The After-School Program at Hughes Elementary School will follow the attached program calendar. The program serves students in grades 3-5.  The program will generally run Monday through Thursday for 2 hours, from 3:00-5:00pm. The program begins on October 11, 2016. Transportation is available if online applications are received by September 23, 2016.  Applications received after September 23rd should plan to allow up to two weeks to be added to bus routes.

Huntington K-8 School (Community Partner: Boys and Girls Club)

The After-School Program at Huntington K-8 School will follow the attached program calendar. Huntington is a 21st Century Community Learning Center. The program serves students in grades K-8.  The program will generally run Monday through Thursday for 2 hours, from 3:00-5:00pm. The program begins on October 11, 2016. The morning program is offered on program days from 7:30-9:00am. Transportation is available if online applications are received by September 23, 2016. Applications received after September 23rd should plan to allow up to two weeks to be added to bus routes.

The After-School Program at LeMoyne Elementary School will follow the attached program calendar. The program serves students in grades K-5.  The program will generally run Monday through Thursday for 2 hours, from 3:00-5:00pm. The program begins on October 11, 2016.
