On November 12th and 13th, 30 Lincoln Scholars had the opportunity to participate in the Women's Career Exploration program in the Library. The girls had the chance to meet with several community members throughout the 4 hour workshop, where they learned about multiple career paths. The program, which focused on the experiences of women, brought in speakers from a wide range of careers such as architecture, finance, education, business, emergency services and many more. Scholars had the opportunity to hear their stories and ask questions. The scholars were also visited by Superintendent Contreras and Mayor Miner, who both spoke of their journey into their current positions, sharing their successes and struggles and giving the scholars an insight into the work they do as well as the work it took to get there. Scholars then had the opportunity to ask questions and take pictures.

At the end of the two days the scholars had a greater appreciation for what it takes to make it in the careers they are interested in and some found entirely new careers to research. All of the scholars had a wonderful time and left excited and ready to start making their mark on the world.
