On Friday, August 19, 2016, GMS held our third WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) orientation.  WEB is an international middle school orientation and transition program that welcomes 6th grade students and makes the feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience.  Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, the program trains mentors from our 8th grade class to be WEB leaders.  As positive role models, WEB leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the 6th grade students to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to middle school and help facilitate 6th grade success.  Sixty GMS 8th grade students came to school on Monday, August 15, and trained for six hours to become WEB leaders.  Their desire to lead was evident in the successful WEB orientation on Friday, August 19.  Click here to view some photographs of our orientation.
