Fowler Boys Headed to Semifinals
The Fowler boys soccer team continued to advance in playoff competition with a 2-1 win Saturday over Troy Catholic in a game at Morrisville State College.
Trailing 1-0 early on, the Falcons came out strong in the second half. The boys scored both of their goals off corners. The first was scored by Abdulkareem Abdulkareem with an assist from Mupenzi Kubera. The second came when Yahiya Donza headed in a shot from teammate Jean-Paul Mboyo.
The defense played strong, keeping the ball in Fowler's half of the field for most of the second half.
The team travels to Middletown on Saturday for their next game.
