Syracuse City School District Educational Foundation’s Annual Recognition Breakfast to be held Saturday, March 31st

The 9th Annual SCSD Educational Foundation Recognition Breakfast will be held on Saturday, March 31st from 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at Oncenter. This year the Foundation will be honoring Dr. Margaret A. Charters for her work at Dr. King Elementary School, and the Bond Shoeneck & King law firm for their work at Elmwood Elementary School. In addition, they will again be presenting teacher, administrator, and support staff awards, and highlighting the current literacy grant recipients and their respective projects.

The event is open to the public and individual tickets and tables are still available for the annual event. The registration information can be found here. The Foundation is also still accepting nominations for the Educator of the Year Awards. To nominate a teacher, administrator or support staff member please use this nomination form.

Since the Foundation was formed, they have provided over $500,000 in grants to schools throughout the District, and over $60,000 this year in “Kids Who Read Succeed” Literacy Grants. Through the help and support of the community, the Foundation hopes to double the number of grants and funds that are provided for the 2012-13 school year.
