Science Fair Winners
More than 500 Syracuse City School District students School District took part in the 2012 Science and Career Fair and Environmental Challenge at the Carrier Dome on the Syracuse University campus.
A joint project between the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry Outreach and the District, the Challenge encourages student research and the exploration of science and science -related careers.
Students presented their projects to about 100 volunteer judges, who came from local colleges, businesses and community organizations. Project topics included the effect of food preservatives on the growth of bacteria, how different insulations effect heat loss, cleaning Onondaga Lake and triboluminescence.
