Pupil Services/Student Behavior One of the major support systems for the Syracuse City School District is the Department of Pupil Services/Student Behavior. This department is home to School Psychologists, School Social Workers, and Guidance Counselors serving students in grades Pre-K through 12. We provide a range of services to students and families, helping to forge good home-school relationships. We assist families in making and strengthening relationships between community agencies, families, and school personnel.A recent addition to Pupil Services is the Community of Caring initiative and the Character Education research grant. Pupil Services has assisted schools in the initiation of Character Education programs to foster a school environment that enables students to achieve in a safe and caring environment. The Pupil Services Department oversees the implementation and monitoring of Syracuse City Schools' current student Code of Conduct. Pupil Services is also responsible for a variety of attendance-improvement and alternative-to-suspension educational initiatives. |
