  • History Reference eBook Collection (EBSCOhost) A research database covering topics in U.S. and world history containing full-text journals, magazines, reference books and primary source documents.

  • Merriam-Webster Unabridged Dictionary Largest, most comprehensive American dictionary currently available in print or online. It includes richer definitions and more usage information than ever before. Definitions have been enhanced with over 100,000 new quotations from notable writers. Supplementary notes provide additional context, and usage paragraphs offer clear guidance and suggestions for words with confused or disputed usage. Dates of first known use are being added, and editorial style changes are being made throughout the dictionary to make entries more readable and easier to understand. A new addition is a blog, quizzes, Top Ten Lists and word popularity rankings to make browsing the dictionary even more enjoyable.

  • TeachingBooks Multimedia database that provides teachers and students with in-depth information on authors, illustrators, books, and book related awards and lists. User can either browse or use search criteria including Common Core resources by grade level, Lexile levels, subject area, grade level, award lists, or search specific author or book title. Some of the information includes links to author websites, audio name pronunciation, book readings, related blogs, text complexity information, videos about author/book, pictures, author interviews, book guides, lesson plans, book trailers, and more.

  • Tumble Book Library Collection of eBooks, storybooks, read-along chapter books, non-fiction titles, graphic novels, and educational videos. Storybooks are presented on Tumblepad with animation, and read-along feature can be turned on or off. Titles are indexed by type and also under the Common Core Portal by grade level. Reader may also select to have many of the titles read in French or Spanish.

Citations

Knowing how to cite your work properly will allow you to avoid plagiarism and provide credit to the sources you're using in your work. Check out Purdue University's Online Writing Lab (OWL) for a variety of useful resources on plagiarism, citations, and research.
