Mission
The mission of the Syracuse City School District Multilingual & Cultural Education Department is to ensure that all English Language Learners (ELLs)/Multilingual Learners (MLLs) will acquire and develop English language proficiency through the receipt of a rigorous curriculum, research-based teaching strategies and social/emotional supports that will provide integration into all school programs and services, and enhance adaptation skills and academic success; this will enable ELLs/MLLs to become part of the American culture, and will serve as a cornerstone for developing confident life-long learners who can actively contribute in their global world.
