The Career Field

Dance professionals use movement and creativity to perform styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and contemporary dance. Career opportunities include performing, choreography, teaching, arts administration, and other roles in the performing arts. Employment for dancers and choreographers is projected to grow 5% from 2024 to 2034, faster than the average for all occupations.

The Program

Students develop the academic, technical, and creative skills needed for success in dance. Through hands-on training, portfolio development, and industry connections, they gain experience in styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and contemporary dance while building skills in choreography and performance. This well-rounded program prepares students for college, professional training, and careers in the performing arts.
