Brighton Academy Students Enjoy First-Ever Expedition Launch

“I got to express myself to people I had never talked to before,” 7th grader Khyler Canery shared. “We talked on a deeper level, and I got to understand why people might act a certain way. We all learned to be more open with each other and not to pass judgement.”
Brighton Academy 7th graders recently participated in their first “expedition launch,” where they rotated through activity stations tied to their expedition theme and guiding questions relating to Identity, Self-Expression and Change. The students tried out a “speed dating” type conversation event and other activities to help them connect their class learning with bigger issues in the real world. As the school year wraps up, students will create projects to share their ideas to create positive change within their school and the greater community. We can’t wait to see what they come up with!
