SCSD Data Warriors Propose Solutions to Social Injustices

Students at Henninger High School, Nottingham High School, and the Regional STEAM High School are looking at forms of social injustices and proposing their own solutions to address them – thanks to a Data Warriors group.
The students meet after school where they research issues like gun violence, racism, ageism, LGBTQ rights, bullying and harassment, and more. They find research to bolster their points and create research papers and posters to show what they found. Students are assisted in their research by Syracuse University students with expertise in research and statistics, who serve as mentors. The Data Warriors recently shared their research and ideas in a “Storytelling for Change” event at Art Rage, where they shared their work with the community. We’re proud of these students for using their curriculum mastery and creativity to bring about positive change!
