The Career Field:
Today's emphasis on sophisticated electronic hardware techniques requires an electrical technician to be well schooled in fundamental concepts relating to AC and DC circuit analysis, electronics, special devices, power, communications, as well as digital hardware and software techniques. As an engineering technician, you will work with engineers in the area of research and development, design, and modern manufacturing methods. You will be prepared to see employment opportunities in the area of design, manufacturing, sales and service.
The Program:
Students enrolled in the program are matched with a professional career coach, take core academic classes and also college classes, and gain professional work experience, all during their high school years.
The program is oriented for students to learn to construct, test, analyze, troubleshoot and repair systems and sub-systems reflective of modern technology using real-world engineering tools and the technologies of today. Students will learn about fundamental concepts such as:
