STEAM School Information

Our School

The city of Syracuse, the Syracuse City School District, Onondaga County and Onondaga, Cortland and Madison County BOCES districts are collaborating on the region's first ever STEAM high school. The high school will offer a rigorous academic curriculum with a focus on STEAM.

Our Concentrations

Below is a list of concentrations offered at SYRACUSE STEAM. Each student attending SYRACUSE STEAM will be enrolled in a concentration. Students can select their first and second choice when applying.

  • Business Entrepreneurship

Who is Eligible

The SYRACUSE STEAM is open to students from the SCSD as well as from the OCM BOCES component school districts. Students will apply as rising 9th grade students.

 

The Application

Students are asked to complete the SYRACUSE STEAM school application. Click the button below for directions and information on completing the application.

 

Bookings

Each student applying is asked to attend an in person or virtual booking with SYRACUSE STEAM school representatives. The booking is designed to answer questions about the school, its academic classes, STEAM pathways, and to assess the students' interest and preparedness to attend SYRACUSE STEAM. The meeting will run about 15 minutes. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend but are not required.

 

Show Us Your Stuff!

Students applying to all pathways are offered the opportunity to bring any items they would like to demonstrate or show to their meeting. Students applying to CTE are encouraged to bring something related to the program and students applying for graphic or performing arts are encourages to showcase their skills via performance or portfolio.

Schedule Your Booking

At the completion of the application, you will be directed to a website to schedule your meeting and audition. Please select an available day and time, and if you would like the meeting to be in person or virtual.
