The Career Field:
Mechanical Technology plays a critical role in keeping the world's most complex systems running smoothly, so that we can continue to enjoy the ease with which we choose and use our favorite places and things. Without the mechanical, manufacturing, and quality assurance technicians and drafter/ designers that are integral to this important profession, we would not be able to implement, analyze or improve the technologies we've come to rely on in our every day lives.
The Program:
Students enrolled in the Mechanical Technology P-TECH program are matched with a professional career coach, take core academic classes and also college classes, and gain professional work experience, all during their high school years.
The program is oriented to prepare students for employment in industry as engineering technicians. Coursework in the Mechanical Technology program includes:
