EMT Program
Located at: PSLA at Fowler
Can you make critical decisions in high-pressure situations? Do you have a desire to help people in their time of need? Do you want to face a new challenge every day, or maybe even every hour?
The Career Field:
EMTs are first responders, assessing dangerous situations and stabilizing the sick or injured — all while maintaining patience, understanding and compassion. They work closely with other emergency personnel (fire fighters and police) to provide the best care and transportation for the patients.
Employment of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) is projected to grow 15 percent from 2021-2031, much faster than the average for all occupations.
The Program:
The EMT program at the Public Service Leadership Academy at Fowler trains students to function independently in a medical emergency and provide pre-hospital care at the scene or during transport.
Upon successful completion of our program, students will:

- Understand the basics for handling cardiac and respiratory arrest, heart attacks, seizures and diabetic emergencies
