Emergency Response & Safety Plans

SCSD Safety Plan
The SCSD is well aware of the concerns of safety, both physical and emotional, that exist within a public school system in an urban setting. SCSD strives to provide a safe learning and teaching environment for all of our students, staff and community members. That is why we have updated our Safety Plan to be in accordance with the New York State Education Department, Regulations 2801(a) for the current school year. We are sharing our updated plan with all stakeholders for their reference, knowledge, comment and support of our initiatives to provide a safe learning and teaching environment for all.

SCSD Emergency Response Plan
The purpose of the SCSD Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is to provide all stakeholders with safety planning, emergency preparedness and response guidelines, vital information, communication procedures, and standardized measures to protect all members of the school community, including students, staff and visitors in the event of an emergency. The ERP is in place at all schools in the District, thus ensuring coordinated responses amongst all staff and students. The ERP has been developed with the help of local authorities and emergency responders. The ERP strives to protect the safety and wellbeing of all community members, student, staff and visitors.
