Summer is here! SCSD offers fun and engaging summer programs to help students learn, grow, and enjoy their break. Families will receive an application from their child’s school or by mail. Please complete and return the application to your child’s school or follow the instructions on the form to apply. If you have not received an application, contact your child’s school to request one. Do you have questions about busing? Contact the Transportation department at (315) 435-4260. |

Additional Summer Enrichment
Esports Camp
July 6 – August 6
6th-8th graders, Mon-Thur 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
9th-12th graders, Mon-Thur, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Summer Site: ELITE Gaming Arena
Build gaming skills while improving mental and physical wellness, learning esports technology, software, management, event planning, and production, and training as part of a team. Develop critical analysis skills through weekly video reviews of team and professional esports matches.
Limited to 120 students each session.

Mindfully U Math Camp
July 6 - August 6
7th-8th graders, Mon-Thur, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Summer Site: PSLA @ Fowler
Join us for a 5 week math camp to build confidence and problem-solving skills using fun, research-based strategies and mindfulness techniques. Students grow creativity, perseverance, and a strong growth mindset through math.
Limited to 100 students.
SCSD Summer Arts
July 6 – July 24 (Three 1-week long sessions)
6th-11th graders, Mon-Fri, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Summer Site: Nottingham HS
Enjoy art enrichment in a small group setting! Classes available in photography, visual art, and theatre. All students, regardless of previous experience, are welcome!
Building Men Summer Institute
July 6 – August 6th
6th-8th graders

The Building Men Summer Institute engages young men in academics, character development, healthy masculinity, physical training, sports, and leadership, fostering their development as well-rounded athletes in mind, body, and spirit.
Space is limited.

Summer 2026 Fellows Stipend: 6th-8th graders - $250; 9th-12th graders - $400
Students in this program participate in enrichment activities focused on financial literacy, work readiness, social-emotional learning, mental health, self-care, health and wellness, and career exploration. The program also includes a community service component that emphasizes giving back to the school community.
To receive the stipend, students must attend at least 85% of the program they’ve enrolled in and complete all required tasks and activities. Violations of the SCSD Code of Conduct may result in ineligibility for the stipend.
ENL & Spanish Dual Language Programs
Spanish Dual Language
July 6th – August 6th
K-5th grade Seymour students only, Mon-Thur, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Summer Site: Bellevue ES
AM Academics
This academic Spanish dual language summer program strengthens students’ language proficiency while reinforcing core academic skills. Through immersive instruction and culturally responsive learning, students build confidence in both Spanish and English.

PM Enrichment - Language Without Limits
Students participate in an afternoon enrichment program focused on building cultural competency and advancing language acquisition for dual language learners. The program also includes weekly field trips and community celebrations.
Steps to the Seal Academy
July 6th – August 6th
K-5th grade students, Mon-Thur, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Summer Sites: Dr. Weeks ES & Webster ES
Students engage in afternoon enrichment language classes offered for multilingual students to promote biliteracy and develop students’ home language.
Summer Institute for Language and Culture (SILC)
July 13th – July 24th
K-12th grade new ELL students only, Mon-Thur, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Summer Site: Dr. Weeks ES
English Language Learners who are new to the United States and the Syracuse City School District are invited to participate in the Summer Institute for Language and Culture. The program supports students in exploring their identities and building peer, school, and community connections through instruction grounded in English as a New Language and translanguaging practices that support both receptive and expressive language development.
