College & Career Corner | Week of 11/17

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Exciting updates! The College & Career Center now has OCC and Lemoyne STEP on campus to support students.

• OCC will be here Thursdays, 9am - 1pm to help with college applications and questions.  
• Lemoyne STEP will be here Fridays, 10am-1pm, offering tutoring, workshops, and support for our grades 9-12. STEP also provides after-school tutoring and a Saturday Institute at Lemoyne College with stipends for select workshops.  

These partnerships help students prepare for life after high school!

Counseling Center Highlights 

• 11/10: Students explored the Ultrasound field and practiced using a real ultrasound machine. 
• 11/13: Lockheed Martin presented career pathways to 11th & 12th graders. 
• 12/2: Join us for “Money Moves”, how to start, fund, and brand your business! 

Important

• 12th graders should work on college essays, Common App, Schoolinks, and senior checklists.  
• OnPoint for college: Wednesdays, 9am-1pm, Room 100. 
• Check early college deadlines and scholarship database on Remind.  
• 12th grade families: If you haven’t completed the FAFSA yet, please see the QR Code for more information. 
• 12th graders should be working on their senior checklist. Please check in with your students about their progress. 
• 11th & 12th graders: Please complete your junior/senior survey so we can learn which colleges, trade programs, and guest speakers you’re interested in. 

Upcoming Events 

• Let’s Lunch & Chat - Common App (12th graders). This workshop will assist students with applying to college and ensuring that all paperwork is in order.  
• 11/18: Oneonta Job Corps will be tabling during all lunches. 

Reminder 

• Stay updated on field trips, job opportunities (some for students as young as 14), workshops, and more. Join Remind to receive notifications. 
• OnPoint for College will be here EVERY WEDNESDAY from 9 am–1 pm in Room 100 (11th & 12th grade). 
• 12th graders should be working on their Common App and SchooLinks. For help, stop by Room 100 or speak with a counselor.
