Greetings Huntington Pre-K-8 Families,
On behalf of the Huntington Pre-K-8 family, welcome to the 2022-2023 academic year! The Huntington staff has been enthusiastically working to prepare for the opening of school for all students (PK-8) on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.  We are pleased that you have entrusted your child’s education to us, and we are committed to providing the best learning environment for your child’s success.  The following information is to remind students and families of the expectations and changes that are in place for this academic year.
  • School hours for all Huntington students: 8:30am-3:00pm (doors will open at 8:20am).
  • Students are expected to be on-time and in school every day.
Arrival and dismissal procedures have been updated from the previous academic year, so please note updated guidance (please see additional information on the Huntington Pre-K-8 Arrival/Dismissal Map enclosure).
Arrival Procedures:

  • Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grades:  Will enter through the east side doors in the front of the building.

  • Pre-Kindergarten:  All Pre-K students will be dismissed through the pool door.
  • Kindergarten:  Students who are being picked-up will be dismissed through the pool door.
  • All Other Grade-Levels:  Students in all other grade levels will be escorted to, and dismissed through, the front entrance and should be picked-up at the flag pole.
  • If you are walking to pick-up your child, please meet your child in the area near the flagpole.
  • Student Pick-Up:  To minimize congestion during dismissal, parents/guardians are asked to not pick-up students in the area directly in front of Huntington on Sunnycrest Road if driving.  We ask that this space be used as a pass-through zone only.  Kindly load in the outer areas of Sunnycrest Road or park on Forest Hill Drive and walk to the front area near the flagpole to pick up your child (please see the enclosed map).
  • Students who ride the bus will be escorted to their buses by their teachers.
Please provide any updated information (address, telephone, emergency contacts, etc.) to the Huntington main office as soon as possible to ensure that your child’s transportation needs are adequately addressed, and we are able to provide effective and timely communication.
Staff members are working tirelessly to make sure that they meet the needs of all students, and we thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Huntington main office at 315-435-4565.  We are eagerly awaiting the return of our scholars to the building, and we look forward to seeing you in the fall!
