SCSD Board of Education to Host Work Session, Special Board Meeting, Safety Plan Hearing on 8/28

The Syracuse City School District Board of Education will hold a Public Hearing regarding the proposed District Safety Plan on August 28, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. in the District Board Room (725 Harrison Street). A Work Session and Special Board Meeting will immediately follow. 
 
The proposed District Safety Plan was presented at the July 24, 2023 Work Session. The Public Hearing is an opportunity for all interested parties to provide comments and questions regarding the District’s Safety Plan. The Plan document was made available on the District’s website on July 25, 2023 and the public comment period will be open for 30 days from that date. 
 
The public is invited to attend the Public Hearing. Those who wish to address the Board of Education regarding the District Safety Plan should make this known to the District Clerk to the Board of Education before the Hearing begins by filling out the appropriate card, available near the entrance door to the Board Room. Speakers are asked to limit their comments to no more than three minutes. The only permitted topic is the District Safety Plan. 
 
The public is also invited to communicate comments in writing by addressing them to the Board of Education at 1025 Erie Boulevard West, Syracuse, NY 13204 or email BoardofEducation@scsd.us.

Following the District Safety Plan Public Hearing, the Board of Education will hold a Special Board Meeting. The previously scheduled Work Session will immediately follow. The public is welcome to attend.
