Meet the PSLA at Fowler Class of 2025 Valedictorian and Salutatorian!

PSLA Valedictorian Feature – Jenny Vo

This is a photo of the PSLA Valedictorian. What are your plans after graduation (what college, what interest in terms of major)? I’ll be attending Syracuse University, where I plan to study Biochemistry. I hope to get into the Upstate Medical Tech program, with the goal of becoming a medical lab tech one day. I find joy in science and this field just hits all of my interests.

What activities have you been involved in outside of class/outside of school? Yearbook, National Honor Society, set design for our school plays and musicals, and volunteering in the school’s greenhouse

What has been the best part of your high school career and why? Bantering with the teachers! Every year, I enjoy getting to banter with my teachers… it’s been so fun when they play along and we get to bond.

What was your proudest moment in high school? The most fun thing I did in high school was designing hyper realistic props for our school’s SpongeBob musical. It was the first time I tried set design, and it came out great!

What are you most looking forward to about college? I’m looking forward to joining clubs… SU has such a great selection, especially in the areas of science and music.

What’s the best thing you’ve learned over the course of your time in the SCSD? The best thing I’ve learned is to stop taking everything so seriously. When you take things too seriously, it removes the joy from the things you like and makes them a chore instead.

What advice would you give to other students as they continue their studies here? Numbers and grades aren’t everything. Focus on having a good experience in school. Have a good time without straying too far from your goals.

What is something major you hope to achieve in life? I hope to be able to live comfortably and find a job that brings me joy. I hope to have cool experiences – maybe one day I can travel to Europe with my family!

PSLA Salutatorian Feature – Paw Eh Blut Say

This is a photo of the PSLA Salutatorian. What are your plans after graduation (what college, what interest in terms of major)? I will be attending RIT, where I plan to study Aerospace Engineering. Outer space has always interested me, and it would be a dream to work for NASA one day!

What activities have you been involved in outside of class/outside of school? Yearbook, National Honor Society, set design for our school plays and musicals, and volunteering in the school’s greenhouse

What has been the best part of your high school career and why? The best part of my high school experience was the chemistry class I took sophomore year. My class was really small, so we all got to know each other; and the teacher was so fun. It was a memorable class because it made learning fun!

What was your proudest moment in high school? The thing I am most proud of is making my mom proud. She had to give up a lot of her own personal goals to take care of me and my family. After every achievement I earn, she is so proud. I know some part of her projects herself onto me because I have been able to do bigger things that she was able to. It makes me proud to make her proud. If my mom is happy, I’m happy.

What are you most looking forward to about college? I’m most looking forward to the drive! I love driving. I wanted to go somewhere close but not too close!

What’s the best thing you’ve learned over the course of your time in the SCSD? In elementary school, it was difficult for me to ask for help because I was so insecure. I’ve learned that teachers are here to help, and to take advantage of that! Connecting with my teachers helped bring me out of my shell.

What advice would you give to other students as they continue their studies here? Don’t be so hung up over one bad grade. High school is a lot more lenient than college. Teachers will work with you to help you improve your grades and get to where you want to be. Learn from your mistakes and improve next time.

What is something major you hope to achieve in life? I hope to save enough to be able to help provide for my family and make their live more bearable. My parents sacrificed a lot for us, and I want them to be able to have an easier life and more freedoms.
