PSLA @ Fowler Vision: We will create a school environment that prepares students to be college, career and life ready by fostering high student achievement, success for all learners, and collaboration with all stakeholders.

Our Mission: We will provide a collaborative, caring, and creative environment which supports students' academic, social, and emotional needs so that they are College and Career-Ready as they continue their successful life journeys as positive, contributing members of society.

Instructional Vision: Effective high school instruction creates an environment in which all students are engaged in thinking about their thinking (metacognition) and learning through struggling with complex tasks, based in real world questions from multiple points of access and multiple points of view, relating the new content to a student's prior and continuing knowledge

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of the staff at PSLA at Fowler High School, I am excited to welcome you to the 2017-18 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure that your child can achieve his/her greatest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for going on 20 years, 17 years in the Syracuse City School District.   Most recently, I served as Principal of Fowler High School.  Prior to coming back to the Syracuse City School District (I was a 1994 graduate of Anthony A. Henninger High School), I went to Norfolk State University on an Athletic Scholarship and taught in the Norfolk Public School System.  I have earned degrees from Norfolk State University and Syracuse University.
Because you are your child’s greatest advocate and teacher, we ask that you continue to guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

  1. Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
  2. Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
  3. Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
  4. Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
  5. Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject

I look forward to leading the PSLA @ Fowler High School community and partnering with you in your child’s education. This year I am joined by Mr. Antonio Herrera (11th grade Administrator), Mr. Vic Cicciarelli (10th grade Administrator), and Dr. Najah Salaam Jennings-Bey (9th grade Administrator).  Classes begin at 7:50 am each morning.  Students may enter at 7:25 am each morning so that students have time to take part in our free breakfast program; there will be paperwork sent home that will require some basic information and your signature for this program.  Please view our school web page, Falcon Facebook account, Twitter, Newsletters, and other forms of communication to stay informed about the wonderful academic, informative, and celebratory events happening at PSLA @ Fowler High School.    If you have questions, concerns or simply wish to introduce yourself to me directly, please feel free to contact me at school.

Thank you in advance for your support as we continue to work in the best interest of all children.
