Smart Scholars Early College Program at ITC
The Smart Scholars Early College Program is a partnership between institutions of higher education and public school districts to create Early College High Schools. Students are provided with the opportunity and preparation to accelerate the completion of their high school studies while simultaneously earning transferable college credits. For the 2018-2019 school year, ITC Smart Scholars earned a total of 298 college credit hours on-campus at Onondaga Community College. This number increases to well over 300 credit hours when combined with those earned through dual-enrollment courses offered at ITC in partnership with SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and Syracuse University through Project Advance (SUPA).
Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs offered at ITC include Automotive Technology, Culinary Arts and Media Communications. To learn more about these programs, visit our CTE program homepage. High School Seniors: Join Us for a Virtual Career Connections Event:
Attention, high school seniors (and families): join the Syracuse City School District, in partnership with local business partners, for a Career Connections event.

SCSD to Resume Additional In-Person Learning Beginning April 12th:
On March 22, 2021, Superintendent Alicea presented a plan to the Board of Education that allows for students to return to school for more days of in-person learning. Both Onondaga County and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have provided guidance that decreases the recommended space between students from six feet to three feet. This change allows us the space to bring more students safely into each classroom.

Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) at Onondaga Community College, Le Moyne College and Syracuse University works with all five SCSD high schools, and three SCSD middle schools, as students pursue their high school graduation. Funded by the New York State Education Department, LPP offers academic support, college/career readiness assistance and social/emotional programming to address the holistic needs of our students.
