Salem Hyde Students Spread Kindness at Thanksgiving Salem Hyde Students Spread Kindness at Thanksgiving: Salem Hyde third grade teacher Amy MacDonough has a theme for her class this year: kindness is the new cool.   “I wanted to show them that it doesn’t cost anything to help people in our community,” Ms. MacDonough explained. “So we thought: what can we do?”   Students decided to paint rocks with messages of thanks and give them to school custodians and other staff that may sometimes go overlooked. SCSD Students Become Avid Readers Thanks to Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge SCSD Students Become Avid Readers Thanks to Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge: As part of the Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge, SCSD students were tasked with reading as much as they could this summer.
