The Great Kindness Challenge
The kindness challenge focuses on developing a positive school climate and increasing student engagement. The Kindness Challenge focuses on performing as many acts of kindness as possible at Delaware Primary! Students participated in a door decorating contest, The Great Wall of Kindness contest, and used the provided checklist of 50 kind acts to show everyone that KINDNESS MATTERS!

SCSD Teachers Meet Their Goals Thanks to New Impact Coaches:
In Molli Brown’s classroom at Delaware Primary, first graders complete a timed math fluency test – called a math sprint – three or four times a week.
When they finish, they run to the front of the room, grab a crayon, and shade in how many questions they got right on their personal goal tracker.
When they reach their math goal – which each student sets for himself or herself each month – they get to ring a special bell to celebrate their progress. ...

Delaware Students Gain Self Esteem and Sisterhood through Building HER Program:
“The girls in our district need something.”
A few years ago, Delaware Primary School Principal Moshiena Faircloth had this thought as she heard about the Building Men Program’s success. A short time later, she had created a not-for-profit, Building HER, not affiliated with the Syracuse City School District, which serves hundreds of young women in fourth through eleventh grade across more than nine City schools, as well as surrounding districts.

Delaware Students Spread Happiness in Kindness Challenge:
Ms. Rodriguez's 2nd graders smiled and giggled as they moved around the school, “sprinkling kindness” everywhere. Ms. Hofman's 4th graders walked around giving kind notes to staff members and classmates. Ms. Brown's 1st graders made ‘helping hands’ and sent them to students at Dr. Weeks.
