Budget Rally and Workshop to Educate, Motivate and Advocate

United Syracuse, a coalition of Syracuse families, businesses, and labor and community organizations that has come together to advocate for equitable state funding, and the Central New York School Boards Association (CNYSBA) is hosting a Budget Information and Advocacy Workshop.  The event will take place in the newly renovated auditorium at HW Smith (1130 Salt Springs Road) on Tuesday, February 25 from 6:30-8:30 PM.

The event is open to the entire Syracuse community including parents, students, educators, community leaders, school board members and business leaders.  Dr. Rick Timbs, Executive Director of the Statewide School Finance Consortium will explain the complexities of state aid and clearly illustrate how our children and our schools have been negatively impacted for years by Albany’s lack of fairness.  There will be on-the-spot advocacy activities where you can let Governor Cuomo and our State delegates know that we mean business.  It is imperative that as many parents, teachers, administrators, residents, businesses and community organizations as possible to come and show support for Syracuse students and schools.

Please join us for an engaging, informative and empowering workshop.   Come out and learn more about the budgetary issues facing our district and how you can be a more effective advocate for our children.
