Meet the New Principal: Lincoln Middle School’s Dan Killenbec
The Syracuse City School District is pleased to introduce Dan Killenbec, the new Principal of Lincoln Middle School! Read the interview below to learn more about Mr. Killenbec.
Tell us a little about yourself and your background.
I am a product of Central New York. I earned my degrees at Le Moyne College, Syracuse University, and SUNY Oswego. I started in the Syracuse City School District as a Social Studies teacher split between Huntington and Frazer. I also taught at Westside Academy at Blodgett (now Syracuse STEM at Blodgett) and PSLA at Fowler. I did my Administrative Internship and was a Vice Principal at PSLA at Fowler prior to being appointed as the Principal at Lincoln Middle School.
What is your favorite thing about Syracuse?
I love the Syracuse community members. I enjoy serving our students and families. There are wonderful people in our great city.
What is your favorite thing about being a school administrator?
No two days are the same. I enjoy being an academic leader that helps our students achieve. I also enjoy working with every part of our school community.
What is your greatest hope for your school?
I want Lincoln Middle School to be a place where students, staff, and community members are excited to come and achieve the goals they set.
What are you most looking forward to about the 2021-22 school year?
I’m excited to welcome our student population and see the great things that they are going to do.
