Fowler HS Hosts 2nd Annual St. Baldrick's Event

It’s incredible what a group of caring people can do when they put their heads together.  The Business & Finance Academy at Fowler High School hosted its 2nd Annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation Head-Shaving Event.  The event has raised over $7,600 to date to help eradicate childhood cancer.

Students in the Career and Technical Education Cosmetology program served as the barbers and beauticians for the day.  They were extremely busy shaving 36 heads (32 male and 4 female).

In conjunction with the St. Baldrick’s fundraiser, twelve female students and staff participated in a corresponding hair-cutting event.  These individuals had 8” or more of their hair cut and donated to Children With Hair Loss.   Children With Hair Loss was created as a resource for all children who have medically-related hair loss. It is the program's mission to empower these children to become whole again by making hair replacement available to those who may be financially challenged and might otherwise not have a means of obtaining the hair they want and need.

With their bald heads or shortened hair, the Fowler staff and students are standing in solidarity with infants, children, teens and young adults fighting cancer.  More important, the funds they raised will truly help save lives.
