A Message from Superintendent Alicea

Dear SCSD Families,

Today, there was another tragic, senseless act of violence carried out at an elementary school in Texas.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the students, families and staff as they deal with this unbelievably sad situation.

We understand the impact this can have on our students and we take that very seriously.  Tomorrow, our counselors, social workers and other support staff will be available to anyone that needs them.  Please encourage your child to talk to a trusted adult in their school if they have any questions.

The National Association of School Psychologists has some helpful tips for talking to children about violence as well.
