Dear Franklin Families,
As you may have heard there have been some staff changes here at Franklin.  We were sad to see Ms. Allen and Mrs. Mitchell leave and begin their journey at Danforth Middle School.  They will be greatly missed.   I have had the opportunity to work in many roles at Franklin, and I am thrilled to be staying here as the Principal. I look forward to continuing to work with all of the students and families that I have worked so well with over the past five years.
I am pleased to welcome Mrs. Dawn Kivlehan as our new Vice-Principal and Ms. Chelsey MacDougall as our Administrative Intern.  They are a welcome addition and bring new levels of expertise and excitement to Franklin.
We are continuing many of the wonderful things already happening at Franklin.  Kindergarten and first grade teachers continue to work together to create
young readers.  In grades 2-5 we have expert teachers for ELA, Math, and Content/Writing, this allows for our teachers to be experts in their content areas and our students to receive excellent teaching at a higher level.  We have continued our partnership with Catholic Charities for our enrichment classes.  Students have choices in the enrichment opportunities they select such as: Legos, dance, art, fashion and science.  The combination of quality curriculum, academic support and exciting enrichment leads to wonderful opportunities for your student.
The success of your child not only comes from the opportunities at Franklin, but also from the positive working relationship between home and school.  We
know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education.  As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.  We ask that you support Franklin in making sure that your child is on time for school each and every day, attendance matters.  We also ask that students read each night to develop and maintain their skills.  Please remember to communicate with your child’s teacher on a regular basis to ensure your child’s success.  We also encourage you to attend all Franklin day or evening events to support your child’s learning.
Please know the staff at Franklin is honored to be working with you for your child’s academic success!
