Governor Andrew Cuomo announced funding for the 2014-2015 Statewide Universal Full-Day Pre-Kindergarten Program.  81 school districts across the state were awarded over $340 million with the Syracuse City School District receiving $1,682,448.

The purpose of the Statewide Universal Full-Day Pre-Kindergarten Program is to incentivize and fund state-of-the-art innovative pre-kindergarten programs and to encourage creativity through competition. Funds were awarded to create new full-day prekindergarten placements or to convert half-day placements to full-day placements.

The Syracuse City School District proposal included working collaboratively with our partner agencies to expand the number of full-day prekindergarten seats.  The grant includes funding to support the vast system-wide health, social/emotional and language needs of students and families.
