SCSD Teacher Achieves Impressive National Board Certification Recognition

This is a photo of Grant Middle School teacher Tiffany Duquette.Grant Middle School English as a New Language Teacher Tiffany Duquette has recently completed a national Maintenance of Certification process – one of the most respected professional credentials available in education!

Ms. Duquette became National Board Certified in 2020 – placing her among just over 2,100 teachers statewide who have earned the credential! National Board Certification was designed by teachers, for teachers — to develop, retain, and recognize accomplished educators. Research shows that students of Board-certified teachers outperform their peers, with an even greater impact for low-income students. To maintain her National Board Certification, Ms. Duquette must now complete a Maintenance of Certification every five years.

“National Board Certification was a huge undertaking, but it stands out as some of the most meaningful professional learning of my career,” Ms. Duquette shared. “Because it is rooted in my own classroom and students, the process helped me refine my practice and strengthen how I support learners. It made me a more reflective, intentional, and effective teacher.”

Congratulations to Ms. Duquette! We are fortunate to have this strong teacher leader contributing to our District.
