Wladis Hat and Glove Giveaway

The Wladis Law Firm and Wladis Companies Inc. gave away over 11,000 hats and gloves to students in the Syracuse City School District’s Pre-K-8 and Elementary Schools as part of their annual hat and glove giveaway.  This is the 18th year that the companies have been providing hats and gloves to students in the district.  The drive was started by George Wladis in 1997 at Seymour Elementary School.
This year’s giveaway would not be possible without the generous donations of several individuals and companies throughout the community.  American Food & Vending, Asbestos & Environmental, Barton and Loguidice, DPC, Construction and General Laborers Local 633, Covanta Energy Corp.,  CRA Infrastructure & Engineering, Inc., Dannible & McKee, LLC, Dermody, Burke & Brown, Excellus BCBS,  Felasco & Cuomo, Firley, Moran, Freer & Eassa PC, First Niagara Bank, Haylor, Freyer & Coon, Inc., HPMile, IBEW Local Union 43, Josall Syracuse, Inc., KeyBank, Northland Communications, Northwestern Mutual Financial, Painters Union, Parsons & Associates, Inc., Savin Engineers, Sirchia & Cuomo, LLP., Smokin' Gun, United Association Plumbers & Steamfitters, Wells Fargo Advisors, Syracuse Moving and Storage, A. Duie Pyle Trucking Co., Jeff & Cindy Stein, Mark & Mara Charlamb, Eric & Shri Deshaies, Robert & Zalie Linn, Gary & Donna Smith, Chris & Melissa Whyland and Joe & Marybeth Pedrotti were all contributors to the giveaway this year.  Suzanne Atkinson, Mr. & Mrs. Ernie Overend, Sr. and Ruth Kurlandsky each hand knitted hats and gloves for the students as well.
