Parent University to Host Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

The Syracuse City School District’s Parent University is hosting a community-wide celebration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his commitment to American civil rights and social justice.  The celebration is Saturday, January 17, from 12 - 4 PM at the Public Service Leadership Academy at Fowler High School (227 Magnolia St.).

The day will include a series of workshops, performances, information, Maker Hall science fun and recognizing Youth Unsung Heroes. The workshops scheduled for the day include: Family Leadership Academy, Talk to a Lawyer, Code of Conduct, Character and Support, Naviance and HBCU College Tour.

There is free bus transportation from 20 different locations around the city and child care is provided.
