Syracuse City Police Chief Fowler visited ITC and talked with Ms. Furcinito’s SUPA Forensic Science class to inspire students and share the story of his career.  Starting out in the Army, Chief Fowler attended college online.  His goal; to be the best!  His drive and determination led to him being the youngest person promoted to Deputy-Chief and then to the Chief of Police.

ITC juniors Hanan Muse and Solomon Lawrence were surprised to find out how competitive Chief Fowler is, to the point that he would not let his daughter beat him while playing basketball.  When asked, Chief Fowler shared the importance of courage and integrity for being successful in a law enforcement career.  ITC juniors Maysarah Gamal and Samiya Muse found this to be particularly important as they sat in the library and talked during lunch.  “Do the right things for the right reasons all the time.”  What does Chief Fowler regret; not joining the police force earlier in life.  He also emphasized his believe that change must come from within.

ITC junior, Solomon Lawrence, was impressed with Chief Fowler’s story asking several questions after the class had ended.
