Van Duyn Students decided they wanted to make a difference this Earth Day. The school registered with OCRRA to participate in OCRRA’s 2016 Earth Day Litter Clean Up. A group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students buddied up with the 1st grade to clean the area around Van Duyn Elementary School. Armed with trash bags, gloves and a great attitude these students walked around the sidewalks of Van Duyn picking up the trash that people had left there. Once they were done the students moved to the playground and cleaned the other areas around the side of the school. Students were excited to be making a difference and were proud to keep their school and playground clean.

The litter that was picked up was placed into Earth Day trash bags labeled with OCRRA stickers and was picked up later that week.
