The Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Future Farmers of America Maple Syrup Trailer visited Ed Smith and Hughes Elementary schools.  The hands-on educational learning experience provided the students with a look into the collection and production of maple syrup in Central New York.

Students learned about the history of maple syrup and how it was discovered many years ago by Native Americans, how the tapping and collection process has changed over the years and how the sap is changed into syrup by boiling off water.  The presentation ended with students being able to sample some maple syrup produced by the VVS, FFA Maple Syrup Sap house.
