Franklin Goals for 2017-2018
 Maintain 95% attendance
By:
  • providing individual and class incentives
  • contacting parents of high absentees
  • discussing students at SIT and team meetings with 85% or lower attendance
  • placing an emphasis on K-1 students
  • conducting home visits by administration and support staff
Increase the Percentage of Students Performing On Grade Level in Reading and Math By 20%
By:
  • AIS for students who scored a high 1 or low 2 on NYS Assessments
  • Tier 1 interventions using Blended Learning
  • STAR assessments for progress monitoring and interventions
  • ANet assessments for quarterly benchmarks and re-teaching
  • Running Records used to create action plans and next steps
  • Departmentalization in grades 2-5
  • Leveled writing groups based on writing groups and rubrics
  • Increase writing in all areas using DINs and Summaries
  • RAPPERS as a school wide teaching strategy to increase students ability to answer short and extended response questions completely
  • Homework protocol aligned to the needs of our students
  • Compare and Contrast as a school wide teaching strategy to improve Higher order thinking skills

Support teachers on a professional level to improve instruction for the outcome of student success 
By:
  • Job embedded TLT utilized for professional development
  • Utilization of ELA and math coaches as well as MCL’s to support teachers in the classroom
  • ILT will lead teachers through Data Driven Instruction model
  • Administrative led team meetings
  • Departmentalization in grades 2-5 to offer deeper understanding of content
 
Support the social and emotional development of students
By:
  • Utilization of Restorative Practices
  • Increase the use of developmentally appropriate interventions
