Student Test Scores Show Increase in Achievement: SCSD students made strong gains in the first half of the school year, according to new data highlighting student growth on the STAR ELA and Math Assessments.   The STAR assessments are administered to students in kindergarten through 11 th grade each year in September, December and May and are a screening and progress monitoring tool, showing teachers and school staff students’ baseline knowledge, as well as areas for intervention, remediation or acceleration.   ... more >>
Third Annual SCSD CTE Expo Highlights Unique High School Program Offerings: Eighth graders throughout the SCSD had the opportunity to see firsthand all 24 Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that will be open to them as high school students, thanks to the third annual SCSD CTE Expo.   Hosted by current CTE students, the Expo allowed eighth graders to experience specialized programs of study ranging from Culinary Arts and Computer Forensics to Fire/Rescue, Drone Technology, Pre-Engineering and more. PSLA at Fowler Students Celebrate ‘National GIS Day’: The mapping of suggested routes for bicycle lanes… the analysis of Centro bus routes… the coordination of public safety resources to save lives…   What do these things have in common? They all require geographic information systems (GIS) technology. Improvement in SCSD Schools Recognized by NYS: The State Education Department recently released performance data for SCSD schools in receivership. The data, from the 2015-16 school year, showed all 9 of our receivership schools making Demonstrable Improvement. Notable highlights vary by school but include things like an increase in standardized test performance, decrease in the number of suspensions, increase in graduation rate, drop in the number of serious incidents and more.   Overall, SCSD schools met or exceeded 69 percent of ... more >>

National Technical Honor Society
Applications for the National Technical Honor Society are in and with CTE teachers and Guidance Counselors.  It is open to 11th and 12th grade students with an overall average of 85 or above who are in a CTE class.  Please see Mr. Benedict, Mrs. Levin, your CTE teacher, or Mr. Jarvis for applications.  All applications are due to Mr. Jarvis in room 16 by March 31st, no exceptions!
