Happening on Team 1

Dr. Seuss's Birthday was on March 2nd, which coincided with Read Aloud Day. Several classes from Team One went down to the library to listen to the Lorax. Students then broke into small groups to examine and analyze the text and answer the following questions:

dr seuss 2
Students watching The Lorax
  1. What was Dr. Seuss's purpose? What was his message?
  2. Who was the intended audience?
  3. Which techniques did Dr. Seuss use in The Lorax?
  4. Was he effective? Why or why not?

This was a great opportunity for the students to work together with different classmates, to really dig deep into the text and to celebrate one of our favorite authors!
