Welcome Back, SCSD - The 2018 - 2019 School year Begins on September 6th

WE ARE EXCITED TO WELCOME OUR STUDENTS & STAFF BACK TO SCHOOL FOR THE 2018 - 19 SCHOOL YEAR!

As with any new beginning, a new school year comes with questions and unknowns. To serve as a resource for families, several Syracuse City School District departments and offices have compiled their most frequently asked questions - with answers - relating to the back-to-school season. Please see below for these questions, separated by department. If you have additional questions, please contact the relevant department directly at the phone number listed below.

As always, you are encouraged to submit questions, comments, or suggestions 24/7 via Let’s Talk - where the appropriate staff member will respond.

We look forward to seeing your child back in school for the first day on Thursday, September 6th!

DO I NEED TO FILL OUT A HOUSEHOLD INCOME ELIGIBILITY APPLICATION EVEN IF WE DO NOT QUALIFY?

Yes! The statistics for student qualifications are used by each school to
qualify for further grants and funding. If you do not qualify, please fill in your
child’s name, write ‘we do not qualify’ across the body of the application
and sign the form. One form per family is sufficient – you do not need to
complete a separate application for each child or for children enrolled in
different SCSD schools.
