What is the Middle Years Program?The MYP is designed for students aged 11 to 16 and prepares students to meet the academic challenges of the IB Diploma Programme (DP). It provides a framework of learning that encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers.College & career-ready: It prepares students for success in higher education and is internationally recognized as representing one of the highest standards in university preparatory education! Global mindset: The programme encourages students to become active participants in an increasingly global society. CurriculumStudents take Middle Years Programme Courses in 6th, 7th and 8th grade and complete a Community Project during 8th grade.Students take courses in eight subject groups:
MYP Community ProjectThe Community Project is student-centered and age-appropriate, and enables students to engage in practical explorations through a cycle of inquiry, action and reflection. The community project provides an important opportunity for students in Year 3 of MYP (8th grade) to collaborate and pursue service learning by providing students with the opportunity to develop awareness about the needs of a community and address those needs. Students will work on the project throughout the year and deliver a presentation in the spring.
