SCSD Students Receive Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Unsung Hero Awards

A group of 20 SCSD students were named 2016 recipients of the 2016 Youth Unsung Hero Awards, presented to young people who have made a positive difference in the lives of others in their schools and who exemplify the teachings of Dr. King. This year’s winning students, nominated by teachers, counselors or school administrators for their leadership, are:
 
Egal Adan (Henninger), Kaleel Boykins (Roberts), Braydon Dems (Huntington), Tatiana Carrasquillo (Frazer), Zuriel Dickerson (Van Duyn), Jah’dier Dowdell (HW Smith), Jilliana Garboushian (Meachem), Nadir Gunn (ITC), Alicia Henderson (Huntington), Solomon Lawrence (ITC), Chloe McIntyre (ELMS), Ariahanna Nickens (McKinley-Brighton), Santosh Pradhan (PSLA at Fowler), Paw Pree (PSLA at Fowler), Destinee Reaves (Corcoran), Ashanti Robinson (Nottingham), Sahar Rowser (ELMS), Ahmanee Simmons (PSLA at Fowler), Khrisshaun Vault (Westside Academy at Blodgett) and Breana Nieves Vergara (Nottingham).
