World Refugee Day Gathering Set for June 23, 2012

A celebration of United Nations’ World Refugee Day will begin with a parade at 10 a.m. June 23, 2012. The parade will start at the 500 block of North Salina Street, in front of the CYO, and end at City Hall.

After the parade, the United Nations’ flag will be raised and there will be a multicultural festival with music, dancing and food from noon to 4 p.m. in Hanover Square.

The event is sponsored by the Syracuse City School District, Catholic Charities, Hopeprint, Interfaith Works, the Onondaga County Public Libraries and Northside UP. For more information on the festival, e-mail cholmes@ccoc.us.
