Receivership Transfer ( new )

The New York State Department of Education has the authority to determine that a school has not made demonstrable improvement over a certain period of time.  This decision can lead to a school being identified as a school in “Receivership”.
Once a school is in “Receivership”, the District is then required to offer students who would attend or are enrolled in the school an opportunity to request a transfer to a school in good standing.

Families who select this option are given priority in all transfers, and are allowed the opportunity to transfer if there is a seat available in the school of choice.  If there are more students who request a transfer to a specific school than we have seats available, the District will conduct a random lottery using the Smartchoice Online Lottery System.  If there are no seats available in the school of choice, the student will be placed on the waitlist through the Smartchoice online lottery system.

Please note that seat availability is limited at each school listed below.
