Spring 2021

The District plans to implement the following schedule for students starting April 12, 2021. 

More information on the plan can be found here. Please note that any student currently attending school 4-days a week will remain in school Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Fully remote learners will participate in synchronous online instruction from 8:45-3:40 or 4:40, depending on their school.

To check your child’s class schedule, please log in to School Tool and reach out to your child’s school with any questions or concerns.

Grades PK - 5
In-Person 5 Days/ Week
Student in grades Pre K-5 will be offered in-person instruction Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. Those wishing to stay fully remote will participate in synchronous online instruction and lessons provided through WCNY. 
Grades 6 - 8
In-Person 4 Days/ Week 
Remote 1 Day/ Week
Grades 6-8 will be offered in-person instruction Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:45 am - 12:45 pm.  Students in grades 6-8 who choose to remain fully remote will participate in synchronous online instruction during that time. All grades 6-8 students will have online instruction in the afternoon, with Wednesdays being an asynchronous instruction and outreach day.
Grades 9 -12
In-Person 2 Day/ Week 
Remote 3 Days/ Week 
At the high school level, students in grades 9-12 will have in-person instruction two days a week: Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday, all from 8:45 am - 12:45 pm. All students (remote or in-person) will have online instruction in the afternoon, and Wednesday will be an asynchronous instruction and outreach day. Those wishing to stay fully remote will participate in synchronous online instruction. 

 


Remote Learning

On remote learning days, students will engage in learning using a variety of tools. Visit our Digital Tools & Resources page for tutorials, to book virtual assistance, and more.

Grades PK - 5
Seesaw, Paper-and-Pencil, & WCNY TV Classroom
Instructional resources and filmed lessons will be posted to Seesaw for grades PK-5. Paper-and-pencil packets aligned to online instruction will be provided for students who prefer them to supplement online instruction.

In addition, SCSD will continue partnering with WCNY TV Classroom to provide consistent access to high-quality instructional programming to all elementary school students, regardless of internet access at home.  
Grades 6 - 8
Canvas and Paper-and-Pencil
Instructional resources and filmed lessons will be posted to Canvas for grades 6-8. Paper-and-pencil packets aligned to online instruction will be provided for students who prefer them to supplement online instruction.
Grades 9 -12
Canvas and Paper-and-Pencil
Instructional resources and filmed lessons will be posted to Canvas for grades 9-12. Paper-and-pencil packets aligned to online instruction will be provided for students who prefer them to supplement online instruction.

 



 

WCNY TV Classroom

For Grades PK-5

WCNY’s TV Classroom will offer curriculum on ELA, math, science, health and physical education, history, and social studies for grades Pre-K through 5. Your child’s school or teacher may recommend timeslots for viewing or you may tune in when internet access is not available. Stream live online or watch on TV (Global Connect Channel):

  • 467 for FiOS
