Dear Syracuse City School District Families and Staff,

We were informed by the Onondaga County Health Department that we have had five staff members and seven students who have tested positive for COVID-19.  Five of the seven students are virtual and have not been in school all year.  The other two students attend Corcoran and Elmcrest and were last in school on November 3rd.

The staff members are from Bellevue, HW Smith, Ed Smith, Nottingham and Dr. King.  The Nottingham and Bellevue staff members were last in school on November 12th, the Ed Smith and Dr. King staff members were last in on November 10th and the HW Smith staff member was last in on November 6th.

The Onondaga County Health Department will be in touch with those, both staff members and students who they believe may have been exposed to the individuals testing positive.

Please remember to wear your mask, stay socially distanced and wash your hands.  Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Jaime Alicea, Superintendent of Schools
